Doblecara

Ronan Bouroullec

The geometry and subtlety of Ronan Bouroullec's hand movement.

Doblecara, designed by Ronan Bouroullec, reflects the artist's geometric design through subtle linear and intermittent strokes with a blurred point, which generate movement in the viewer's view.

The mastery and tireless spirit of always going one step further has led Ronan Bouroullec, together with Nani Marquina, to work on a collection with a double reading. Double-sided is a reversible rug, which can be enjoyed on both sides, with the main side showing off the rectilinear design in its maximum splendor and side B being the most subtle and delicate.

The choice of technique has been key to the development of Doblecara. For the first time, the ancestral kilim and its reminiscences of the past have been combined to create the base with the handknotted technique to capture the strokes in different heights, which provide rhythm and resistance to the carpet. Each rug is made from hand-spun Afghan wool. The rustic appearance and the irregularities of this fiber result in a unique rug in which you can appreciate the beauty and authenticity of the craftsmanship.

Lines, strokes and geometry come to life in four conceptual rugs in three colors combined in positive and negative: black-ecru, ecru-black, ecru-red, ecru-ecru.
