Caring for the environment has been a constant throughout our history. In 2013 we incorporated biodegradable, chemical-free products, Eco-Sheen and Jutex, into our cleaning process. Our latest milestone in terms of sustainability is obtaining the Climate Neutral certificate . After developing a measurement, reduction and compensation program, nanimarquina chooses a zero emissions future.
In addition to establishing an annual reduction plan that allows us to continue auditing and reducing CO2 emissions year after year, nanimarquina participates in an offset program consisting of two independent Gold Standard certified projects. These initiatives located in India, the country that has helped us establish our brand through craftsmanship, guarantee that the net emissions emitted by the company are equal to zero.
20 MW Biomass Power in Chhattisgarh
Located in northern India, this sustainable energy project generates electricity using rice husks produced by local communities. By replacing the fossil energy source with a renewable one, we manage to reduce CO2 emissions at the same time as waste. In addition to the positive environmental impact, this initiative puts other benefits at the service of the community such as a health center and educational actions. .
Non-polluting kitchen with biogas
In India, more than a million people die each year from inhaling harmful cooking fumes. Additionally, cooking with an open fire contributes to greenhouse gas emissions. This project is responsible for supplying biogas installations to 12,000 farming families, which provides health benefits for the entire family, as well as saving time on housework and searching for firewood.
