Fibers

100% Hand Spun Afghan Wool (Fiber)

Afghan wool comes from sheep grazed high in the mountains of Afghanistan. Naturally corrugated, it is a very resistant material with a rough touch. Due to the curl of the wool and the irregularity in the yarn, when weaving it it achieves an aged and unique look.

Technique

Hand knotted (Persian knot)

Manual weaving made on a vertical loom where the thread is held tightly to the warp using knots.

Asymmetrical knot that can give rise to high densities and highly detailed motifs.
