Details

Colorado proposes a collection of ethnic style rugs, where tradition and modernity merge in an elegant combination of textures and ancestral techniques. Each piece offers a unique set of textures in two heights, created with careful combinations of fibers and threads in varied shades.

The use of chobi gives these rugs a unique visual richness, which is revealed with changes in light and movement. This inherent characteristic of hand-spun wool, together with the chobi technique, lies in how it is woven: the orientation of the fiber when closing the knot, its length and the density of knots.

Fibers

100% Afghan wool

Afghan wool comes from sheep grazed high in the mountains of Afghanistan. Naturally corrugated, it is a very resistant material with a rough touch. Due to the curl of the wool and the irregularity in the yarn, when weaving it it achieves an aged and unique look.

Technique

Hand knotted + Hand loomed

Manual weaving made on a vertical loom where the thread is held tightly to the warp using knots.

Colorado Collection

Colorado is the first collaborative collection between nanimarquina and Inga Sempé. A collection that harmoniously mixes tradition and modernity.

This collection of ethnic style rugs transcends the limits of weaving by combining the traditional and the contemporary, through the use of ancient techniques such as chobi (hand-knotted) and kilim (hand loomed).
