Born in Madrid in 1974, Jaime Hayon can boast of one of the most brilliant careers in the recent history of contemporary design. Although he trained in his hometown of Madrid, he cut his teeth as a designer with Fabrica, the creativity incubator run by Benetton near the Italian city of Treviso. When he was barely 24 years old, he worked under Oliviero Toscani, who would soon put him in charge of the design department.
In 2004, Hayon decided to develop on his own, so he settled in Barcelona and began working on various projects, in addition to exhibiting his most personal work in art galleries. His exhibition entitled Mediterranean Baroque Digital, at the David Gill Gallery in London, and the bathroom collection he designed for ArtQuitect marked the beginning of his meteoric international rise, established with BD's Showtime collection and his subsequent work with companies such as Metalarte, Camper , Lladró, Bisazza, Swarovsky and Moooi.
