Between 2005 and 2006, the architect Elías Torres was in charge of the remodeling of the legendary Saló Daurat of the Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya, seat of the Government in Catalonia, where one of the best-known works of the artist Antoni Tàpias is located.

The main challenge of the project was to reproduce and expand the detail of the marble mosaic of the original floor to highlight the origins of the building and give warmth to a large room with great notoriety within the palace. Nanimarquina has made a circular carpet 7 meters in diameter with the exact colors of the marble it reproduces.
